Thinking Error Update

error-1.jpgWe have added thinking error number 16 to the list of errors.  This new error is called avoiding should statements.  The reason that this error has been added is due to several factors. One is because using it can allow a person to set them self up for failure. For example, a person may say in their personal self talk, “If I treat other people the right way, then they should treat me well also.”  Looking at the statement from this view point, it can be seen that people do not always do what they should. Follow the Operating Manual

manual.jpgAs I was growing up, my father may have thought I did not listen to what he had to say. However, I did learn many lessons from him as I grew up.  One of those lessons was to use things for what they were designed to do.  For example, I may use a socket wrench as a hammer or us the wrong shaped socket on a bolt.  Sure enough I would break or strip something causing us to go get a new part.
