What is the focus of SFT training?

January 10, 2008

car troubleIf a person were to ask someone about the training at SFT they may get several answers.  They may get answers that say the training is about depression.  Another person may say it is about stopping an addiction.  Though the program does address both of these issues, the real focus is on teaching people how to recognize and remove emotional pain from their lives.  This does not mean that a person who goes through our training no longer experiences painful events in their life.  What it does mean is that when those painful events occur our students know what to do and how to handle the situation so they are not being emotionally overloaded with the troubles of life.  They can live life with a free mind instead of one that is continually clouded with worries as well as stop any unwanted behaviors.

Our approach to addiction is a little different than that of the traditional methods.  For example, imagine a person was driving down the road and their car had the check engine light come on as well as begin to make a very loud noise.   Now the person driving decides to pull over, take out the check engine light, and then precedes to continue driving with the radio turned up so loud that the cannot hear the noise anymore.  Now anyone reading this already sees the problem in the decision this driver has just made.  He blotted out the symptoms but did not address the reason for the problem.  Just because the driver cannot see or hear the symptoms anymore does not mean the problem is gone.  What most people do not realize is that addiction is a symptom of the core problem and traditionally what most do is get rid of the symptom when the problem is still there.  That is one thing that sets this program apart from many other programs is that we like to address the reason for peoples behaviors and not just the symptoms.  Anyone who is interested in our training can contact us at anytime and set up a session or hold workshop in your local area.

[…] The western culture in which we live has a problem of having more choices available than ever before.  This rings true for people who desire to address their own escape behaviors.  There are currently so many options of escape, from drugs to surgical procedures, that it is very important to make sure the method used is not just a band aid.  In other words, it is not enough to simply address symptoms; a person must address the reason for the behavior.  […]
